Questions
What kinds of businesses is it for?
Home-service businesses that go to the customer: plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical, roofing, and similar trades. It isn't set up yet for salons, doctors, lawyers, or restaurants.
I have office staff. Will it still help?
Yes. Your office keeps answering. It picks up the calls they miss and everything after hours. Call texts can go to your dispatcher, and after-hours emergencies can ring whoever's on call that week.
Do I keep my number?
Yes. You forward your number to Ringerang, so customers call the same number as always. We show you how for your phone company, and one button checks that it's working.
Will callers know it's an AI?
Only if they ask. Every call starts by saying the call is transcribed, which some states require. If a caller asks whether it's a person, it tells the truth. It never pretends to be a person.
What about emergencies?
You choose: it rings your phone right away, or texts you. For gas, fire, or carbon monoxide, it tells the caller to get out and call 911. It doesn't replace 911.
How does it know when I'm free?
You set your hours and how long each kind of job takes. It only offers open times and never double-books its own appointments. Jobs you book yourself aren't on its schedule unless we connect your Google Calendar, so tell us about them.
How does the free trial work?
Add a card. Nothing is charged for 14 days. At least 7 days before it ends, we remind you of the date and amount, and near the end we send a report of calls answered and jobs booked. If you don't cancel, $199 is charged when it ends, then $199 a month. Cancel online before then and you pay nothing. One free trial per business, up to 150 minutes of calls a day.
What counts as a call?
A real conversation with a caller. These are free: spam, robocalls, wrong numbers, calls under 20 seconds, hang-ups during the greeting, calls when our system had a problem, and every call during your free trial. You can set a monthly limit on call charges, and we can text you when they pass $50, $100, and every $100 after that.
Does it text my customers?
Only if they say yes on the call. This turns on after the phone carriers approve your business for texting, which can take a few weeks. Anyone who replies STOP never gets another text.
Can I change things or cancel?
Yes, anytime. Log in with your cell number to change your hours, jobs, voice, and emergency rules, or to cancel. No contract. Service runs through the end of the month you've paid for.
